It's the last part of my "Exploring Tanay" travel blog series! :) For this post, let's visit The Daranak Falls, one of the most famous destinations in Tanay. Initially, we also wanted to visit Batlag falls, a natural resort just a walking distance from Daranak. However, our budget did not permit us to do so. Entrance Fee in Batlag is Php 100 each and a slash of Php 200 from our budget that time is no longer a good idea. It was an unfortunate event but everything's well since we were already satisfied with Daranak Falls :)
LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION
Daranak Falls is a natural resort located at Barangay Tandang Kutyo, about 9 kilometers away from Tanay proper. It has 14 meter high waterfalls and almost 30 feet deep basin which serves as its natural pool.

HOW TO GET HERE
Kindly visit Exploring Tanay- Blog Series Introduction to get the details on how we got in Tanay. Our start point is at Tanay Public Market where we hired a tricycle for a package tour of Php 800 pesos. If your only destination is Daranak, regular tricycle fair would be from Php 200 (one way). Some drivers though would ask a fare of Php 300.
Sorry party people, no loud music allowed :) I'm glad they have this rule so we can fully enjoy the calming sound of the falls :)
Daranak falls is basically one of the perfect places to be if you want to take a dip in a cold water. Beach resorts during Summer tend to be overly crowded plus the sea water isn't that cold.
Receiving Area. Almost everything that you need to know can already be found here haha.
For those who aren't skilled in swimming, you may opt to just stay and swim in the sides of the main "pool". But if you really want to enjoy the water in the center where it's undeniably deep, rubber tube or "salbabida" are available. Since I forgot to ask if the "salbabida" are for free or for rent, I sent a message to Daranak Fall's Facebook Page to inquire. I actually got a swift revert and was informed that the "salbabida" is for rent for Php 30-50 depending on the size.
They all seem to be enjoying the water with their salbabida :) By the way, I saw two life guards in the area on the day of our visit.
How relaxing it is to enjoy the cold water of Daranak while looking at this view :)

The calm part of Daranak :)
Random water shot I took for nothing :)
