Full Coverage Foundation Routine
Wedding, birthday, reunion, graduation, and corporate meeting. The list may continue when we talk about important or special events. And since we describe these events as important and/or special, we want to make sure that we look our best. Aside from dressing up properly, of course we, ladies put make up on to look more presentable. So for today's post, I will be sharing to you my Full Coverage Foundation Routine. Just a disclaimer though, I DON'T DO THIS EVERY SINGLE DAY- on very special occasions only :)
Products Used
1. Myra E Moisturizer 2. Kokuryu Cake Foundation in Green 3. Naturactor Concealer in shade 151 4. Ever Bilena BB Cream in Oriental 5. e.l.f Studio Foundation in Buff 6. Nichido Final Powder in Ivory Glow Tools used 1. Makeup Sponge from Nichido 2. Beauty Blender or Sponge 3. e.l.f Flat Top Brush
1. First, I apply a moisturizer and let it set for around 7 to 10 minutes to be fully absorbed by the skin. If you have your trusted moisturizer, then have all the liberty to use it :)
As you can see, I do have unpleasant blemishes on my face that need to be concealed. Oh, this face my friend is already moisturized haha.
2. Next, I correct the red areas/spots on my face like the sides of my nose and mouth as well as active pimples. To correct the redness, I use a green cake foundation from Kokuryu but you can also use a green concealer/color corrector. Since this foundation is water activated, I have to use a wet sponge to apply the product.
I also use the same product to highlight the "V" part of my face. Please note that I DON'T apply this green foundation on my whole face.
3. Then, I spot conceal my blemishes. I normally use my fingers in applying the concealer on my spots then blend it properly with a damp sponge. This way, the product will be thinly and evenly distributed on the skin to avoid that cakey look.
4. I then apply my favorite foundation combo: the Ever Bilena BB Cream in Oriental and e.l.f Studio Foundation in Buff. I have to combine the two for me to get my right shade. This combo also provides a very good coverage on me.
In applying my foundation, I always use a flat top brush and do the dabbing motion. This technique really helps in concealing hard to conceal blemishes :)
5. Lastly, I set my foundation with a loose powder not only to mattify my face but also to ensure that my foundation will stay in tact for a good amount of time, at least it would last me a day with minimal re-touching. Feel free to use a setting spray as well.
When setting my full coverage foundation, I only use a translucent powder to not disturb the color or the coverage of the foundation. I use the same damp beauty sponge in applying my loose powder.
This is how I look like after setting the foundation w/ loose powder :)
Now let me just remove my hair velcro and we are.........................
Done! That is how I do my Full Coverage Foundation :) I just curled my lashes on that picture above just to look more awake. Hope you learned something from this post. Till my next post!
