Congratulations Octoberians! Some people may not feel the graduation breeze since most graduation ceremonies occur in the month of March. Well, I feel you fellow Octoberians :) I, myself graduated in the month of October, 9th of October 2010 to be exact. Now to show support for the Octoberian ladies, here's an affordable graduation makeup tutorial. Enjoy! Let us begin by moisturizing our face. This is to make our face look hydrated and avoid dry flakes from being visible especially after applying a foundation. What I used here is the Myra E moisturizer which you may get for Php 89. Note: Wait for around 5-10 minutes for the moisturizer to be thoroughly absorbed by the skin. Next is primer or mattifying cream to keep the oiliness at bay for a good amount of hours. Graduation rites usually run for several hours so we want to make sure that we still look fresh after the rites, correct? Here, I used the Quick FX No Shine Mattifier. You may get this from any Watsons store for Php 90 +. However, this product is really hard to get as it is always sold out. Now we want a full coverage foundation to of course look flawless on our graduation day. First, I used a cake foundation from Fashion 21 in the shade no. 6. Click here to see my review on this product. I only applied one thin layer of this foundation to cancel out the redness and cover some imperfections on my face. Next is a liquid foundation that offers a good coverage. Here I used a combination of the Ever Bilena BB Cream in Oriental and E.l.f Studio Foundation in Buff. I needed to combine the two to get the perfect shade fit for my skin tone. To apply this combo, I used my E.l.f flat top brush in a tapping/dabbing motion. DO NOT SWIRL THE BRUSH as it will just remove the coverage we just made. After applying two layers of foundation, let it set and move on to the brows. For this makeup look I used my Ever Bilena Advance Brow Pencil in Dark Brown. You may check this blog post to see how I do my brows. After the brows, let us move on to the eyes. For this simple eye makeup, I used the Nichido palette (Php100) and San San eyeshadow in Warm Copper Fire (Php50 now Php65). If you want your eyeshadow to look good even after several hours, feel free to use an eye primer. To better understand the image below, here is a step by step instruction: 1. Apply the beige color on your eyelids. 2. Take the San San eyeshadow in copper fire and apply it on your crease. Don't forget to blend the harsh edges. 3. Apply the same beige color on your brow bone to highlight. 4. Intensify the look by re-applying the SanSan eye shadow on your crease and blend blend blend :) 5. Re-apply the beige shadow at the center of your lids. 6. Line your eyes with a waterproof or sweat proof eyeliner pen and apply a little of the SanSan eyeshadow on your lower lash line to balance the color. 7. Curl your lashes. 8. Apply a waterproof mascara. 9. Lastly, apply a white or beige pencil on your water line to make your eyes look bigger and more awake (optional). For the blush, I used the same Careline blush which I also used on my Simple and Affordable Pinay Makeup Tutorial. Remember that when you apply a blush, apply it upwards from your cheek bones to your temple area. Time to set our face with powder to help the foundation stay in place. To set everything, I used my Nichido Final Powder in Ivory Glow (Php150+). To apply this setting powder, you may either use the sponge that it came with, a brush, or a damp sponge. I chose to use a damp sponge to thinly apply the powder and to also absorb excess oil from my face. For the lips, I used this brown nude lipstick from Aido which is only priced at Php 25! This is in the shade #11 and this is actually one of my favorite nude lippies:) If you want to ensure that your lipstick stays on longer, you may use a lip liner prior the application of the lipstick. Work a little on your hair and tadaaa! We are done! Here are more photos of this makeup look. With filters, though :) There you go. A not-so-complicated makeup tutorial which you may use as a reference for your graduation day makeup look. I know some of you already celebrated your graduation day but I know some are still about to celebrate it.
Once again, Congratulations Graduates! Now sore high and be ready to work real hard :) -JEN- Like my FB page here to be updated on my latest blog posts. |
