Though the brand Pinkies Collections is not new to me, I wasn’t aware that they have this line of matte lipstick which looks promising. I first saw this lipstick line from Anna Cay, a new Pinay Beauty Enthusiast on YouTube. After watching her review, I immediately searched for more reviews of this very interesting lipstick. I saw a few blog posts and few more YouTube videos which featured Pinkies Collections Matte Lipstick and I was certain to get my hands on them. I was eyeing for Bark and Bottle Brush so I went ahead and bought them :) For today's post, let me share to you my thoughts on these matte lipsticks from Pinkies Collections which were also featured on my latest beauty haul here. PRIZE, WHERE TO GET, AND PACKAGING Each tube of of this Matte lipstick is priced at Php 199 and you’ll get 3g of product. I believe it was initially sold at Php 169 but after a while, they raised it to Php 199-->law of supply and demand perhaps? Pinkies Collections is available in almost all SM Department Stores and selected Watsons stores. For the packaging, the lipstick is contained in a pink, bulky plastic container. Some find it too big for a lipstick but I find it cute, sassy, and out of the ordinary :) it does feel sturdy and does not feel cheap to touch. Ingredients CONSISTENCY AND SCENT When I tried Bark and Bottle Brush on my lips, I noticed that both have a creamy formula which made them easily glide on my lips. For the scent, it smells like a melted plastic or melted crayon. I know it smells unpleasant but don’t worry as this strong scent quickly fades after application. SWATCHES Bark - A nude brownish color perfect for simple every day look or for a heavy smoky eye look. However, I believe this isn’t a very friendly shade to all skin color since I saw a few people wear this shade and it made them look washed out. Bottle Brush - Now this shade right here is an instant favorite of mine. This shade is amazingly pigmented; color payoff is superb and I’m not exaggerating here. Try it and you’ll understand what I mean :) This shade is on the dark side of red. I’m not really good in describing colors but the color looks like a wine :) LONGEVITY Let’s see how the shade Bark performs. Please note that I DID NOT APPLY LIP BALM for this review. 8: 12 AM- Freshly applied and I really like how this shade looks like on me :) 12:45 PM- I just ate my lunch and constantly drank water and this is how the lipstick looked like. 50% of the lipstick already faded. PS: I apologize for the poor quality image 6: 15 PM- A little more than 10 hrs has passed and the only stain left from this shade can be seen on the outline of my lips. So I did retouch and here’s how I looked like. Now let’s move on to Bottle Brush. 8:20 AM- Freshly applied and look at that color screaming at you! :) 12: 45 PM- After lunch and here’s how it looked like. There was a tiny bit of fading but it’s almost unnoticeable. Amazing, isn’t it? :) 6:17 PM- Hands down to this Pinkies Collection Bottle Brush lippie. Though some of the color already faded, it did leave a very pigmented stain on my lips. Look at that :)
FINAL THOUGHTS With the experience I had with these lipsticks. I'd say I highly recommend the Pinkies Collections Matte Lipstick line . Yes, there are a few CONS for this product but they're all tolerable :) PROS 1. Locally Available 2. One of their Customer Service Staff on Facebook told me that all their products are CRUELTY FREE! Hurray to that! :) 3. Very pigmented 4. Creamy and glides on (MY) lips smoothly 5. Longevity is amazing for the shade Bottle Brush. I believe all their dark shades perform the same. 6. Has a good variety of shades to choose from 7. Cute and sturdy packaging CONS 1. Has an unpleasant scent but fades over time 2. May not be considered "affordable" for some 3. Not transfer proof 4. May make the lips dry so lip balm application is a must Thank you so much for dropping by :) Till my next review! -JEN- Like my FB page here to be updated on my latest blog posts. |
