For the past couple of months, Filipino beauty enthusiasts went gaga over this affordable aloe vera gel from Mumuso. Some are even comparing it to the ever so famous Nature Republic Aloe Vera Gel and claim that both deliver the same results. If you haven't heard of this Mumuso store yet, well here's what I got from their FB page: Mumuso is a fast fashionable leisure-lifestyle commodities store with a cute Korean flavor. And to add, I saw a few claims on the internet that this is actually a Chinese owned store selling Korean products. Now going back to the aloe vera gel, I fortunately have both the Mumuso and the Nature Republic. So, alam na, let me go ahead and compare the two :) PRIZE AND WHERE TO GET Mumuso 92% Aloe Vera Gel- Php 99 sold exclusively in Mumuso stores Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel- Php 245 sold exclusively in Nature Republic stores Unfortunately, both stores haven't reached Cebu yet but I'm lucky to have someone from Manila get these goodies for me. Thanks, Gio :) To help you guys further, here are the branches of Mumuso and Nature Republic. Fyi, I got all these from their respective FB pages. MUMUSO PHILIPPINES 1. Venice Grand Canal, Mckinley Hills Taguig 2. Ayala 30th, Pasig 3. Starmall, Edsa Shaw Blvd 4. Lucky Chinatown Mall, Binondo 5. Ayala Southpark, Muntinlupa 6. Eastwood mall, Quezon City 7. Farmer's Plaza, Cubao 8. Ayala UP Town Center, Quezon City 9. Bay City Mall, Batangas 10. Market Market, Taguig 11. Fisher Mall, Quezon Ave 12. Marquee Mall, Pampanga 13. Greenbelt 1, Makati City 14. Wellworth Ayala - Fairview Terraces PACKAGING AND CONTENT Both aloe vera gel contain the same amount of product; Mumuso has 300g and Nature Republic has 300ml. As for the packaging, they actually look closely similar. Let me just write in bullets the differences I see: *Shape- Mumuso is shaped like an ordinary cylinder tub while Nature Republic has a slightly cone shaped tub which is visible on the image above. *Color- The green hue of Mumuso is a bit darker than Nature Republic. MUMUSO Transparent lid separator This plastic on the bottom part needs to be peeled off to see the expiration date. However, you may want to keep this sticker because of the reason below :) Once completely peeled off, all you will see are Korean characters which majority of us Pinoys don't understand. Thus, the advice above :) NATURE REPUBLIC Similar with Mumuso, this also has a transparent lid separator but with the brand's name embossed into it. If you'll look closely, English product description, instruction, and ingredients are also present on the bottom part of the packaging. CONSISTENCY AND SCENT I first got my hands on the Mumuso Aloe Vera Gel and when I finally received my Nature Republic Aloe Vera, right off the bat, I noticed that the latter has a thicker consistency compared to the former. And the scent? Nature Republic smells more pleasant and aloe-y compared to Mumuso. I just don't like the combination of an aloe vera scent with a hint of rubber or plastic scent that I smell from Mumuso. Let me just reiterate, just a hint of a rubber or plastic scent. HOW I USE THEM AND HOW DO THEY FEEL I actually use them as a daily overnight mask. I just apply a generous amount of product on my face and just leave it on until I wake up. Both do give me a minimal tingling sensation every application, mas mahapdi lang ng konti 'yong sa Nature Republic. As for the tackiness, Mumuso feels very sticky and heavy on the skin. I also don't like the fact that it takes more than 30 minutes for the Mumuso Aloe Gel to dry and to be thoroughly absorbed by my skin. Mejo hassle yong dumidikit 'yong buhok ko sa mukha ko every time I use Mumuso :) As for its opponent, Nature Republic feels light and dries fairly fast. EFFECT Now here's the most important question, do they deliver good results? The answer- YES. I have used these products for more than a month and both have different effect on me. Mumuso gives me a very supple and super moisturized skin to the point na naging oily na ako. However, it doesn't do much on the tiny bumps and pimples I occasionally have on my face. In fact, I just used Mumuso last night to confirm my initial observation and the pimple I have on my forehead is still here (-_-) Nature Republic on the other hand, gives me just the right amount of moisture but does wonders in diminishing the tiny bumps on my face and healing my pimples. Girl, this is really the bomb! :) I'm not even exaggerating here, Nature Republic Aloe Vera Gel has been my savior whenever my facial skin acts up :) FINAL THOUGHTS
Alright, if you'll ask me what will I recommend between the two, I actually do recommend both. Though I have been using the Nature Republic Aloe Gel non stop since I got it, I still use Mumuso Aloe Gel once in a while especially on those days when I have terribly dry skin. To help you decide, here are their PROS AND CONS: Mumuso Aloe Vera Gel PRO/S 1. Affordable 2. Provides intense moisture and leaves MY skin supple 3. helps minimize tiny bumps on MY face CON/S 1.
