If you're one of the few people who know me well, you should be aware that one of my insecurities is my dark, wrinkly under eye. Yes, concealer may help lighten the area, but the creases though, they just make me look way older than my actual age of 28 (-_-) Because of this struggle, I normally opt not to wear any concealer on my under eye area anymore. Sad, I know, but--- I saw this new concealer from Milani being reviewed by a few beauty enthusiasts on YouTube and all of them, take note, ALL of them said they’re impressed on how the concealer held up on to their skin with very minimal creasing. ‘Di naman pwedeng di ko xa subukan kasi mejo keri naman sa budget, so I bought it :) PRIZE, WHERE TO GET, AND PACKAGING I got my Milani Retouch + Erase Light-Lifting Concealer from Chedelyn’s Cosmetics store in APM mall Cebu for Php 480. You may also get this online from Shopee for a price range of Php 380- Php 599. Packaging wise, the concealer is housed in a squeezable tube with a cushion applicator. Many may find this type of applicator unhygienic as this may accumulate dirt over time but for me, it is what it is :) As indicated at the bottom back part of the product, this concealer will do you good for 12 months or 1 year after opening it. Apologies if the cushion applicator is already stained. I just can't wait to try it the night I got it so, yah :) SWATCHES This new Milani concealer has 7 shades in total and I picked the shade which has the most yellow undertone in it, shade number 3- Medium Light. Now since I love you, I searched for swatches online so at least you guys would have an idea on how each shade looks :) Photo grabbed from Pinterest CONSISTENCY AND SCENT Milani retouch+erase concealer's consistency is creamy but not thick. It also feels really lightweight on the skin. This is actually the type of concealer that works well on my under eye area since an overly thick formula increases the probability of creasing. The scent? it has an unpleasant scent that I can't really describe. No worries though, you will only get to smell it if you intentionally smell it. If that makes sense :) Now here's my swatch for shade number 3 :) PERFORMANCE So I have used this Milani Retouch + Erase concealer for a little more than two weeks now and just like what I posted on my Instagram, this baby right here doesn't give much of a problem when it comes to creasing :) sa wakas, nakahanap din ng concealer na "pwede na" sa under eye area ko :) As you can obviously see on the 3rd image below, the concealer does the job in concealing my dark circles, but I have to say, coverage isn't really full. As seen on the 4th image, the area only looked brighter after setting it with powder. **1st image- Bare eyelid and under eye area :) **2nd image- Applied a few dots for a thin layer to avoid creasing. Mejo naparami nga lagay ko eh, dapat konti lang talaga para sure na walang creasing na ganap :) **3rd image- Blended the concealer using my ring finger. I also blended it well towards my eyelid to brighten its appearance :) **4th image- Milani Retouch+ Erase Concealer set with Essence All About Matte Fixing Powder. PS: Pagpasensyahan ang aking kilay :) I quickly did my right brow here for the sake of this picture. Yes, ONLY my right brow :) #parasablog FINAL THOUGHTS
Alright, let's now dissect the Pro's and Con's of this Milani concealer to help you decide if you should get your hands on this baby or not. PRO/S 1. Minimal creasing is observed, especially if the concealer is set with my fave Essence All About Matte Fixing Powder. Tried setting it with my Nichido Final Powder and the longevity of the concealer wasn't really impressive. Normally, my under eye area would look good for at least 6 hrs. when it is set with the Essence powder, but with Nichido, it only looked pleasant for roughly 4 hrs. 2. Conceals dark circles. CON/S 1. Formula lacks a little moisture. The concealer has the tendency to make my under eye look and feel dry plus it sometimes emphasizes the look of my wrinkles even when the area is moisturized. 2. Coverage is not full but medium. Thus, it can't be used to spot conceal blemishes as suggested in the packaging. Layering this on my under eye area isn't also a good idea because it will definitely crease. I'd say I will continue to use this concealer until I use it all up, but I'm unsure if I will re-purchase. Though this doesn't give me much of a problem when it comes to creasing, I'd still continue to hunt for that one concealer which can fully conceal my dark under eye area, minimize the look of my wrinkles, crease proof, and hydrating :) Oh diba? good luck saken, haha. If you happen to know any concealer that performs that way, please do let me know :) Till my next concealer review, -JEN- |
